Orphan’s Xmas 07
For some of this this was our first Christmas away from home, for others it was another after many years away. In any case, it’s times like these that you do miss your family and your home; as well as that great summer weather I’ve become so accustomed to!
We all pitched in about £20 and that paid for a gigantic Christmas hamper from Marks and Spencers. Christmas lunch was at our place. It was quite cold, though it didn’t snow, it made it all the more cosy. For me, it was great to be back in London with Vanita and the gang after five weeks in the desert that is Dubai.
All in all it was a great day with plenty of food and drink, good friends and a warm place – you can’t ask for much more!
New Year’s Eve ‘07
After a few drinks at West India Quay a few of us got on the tube into town to check out the fireworks off the London Eye. We were standing quite a way back and perpendicular to the Eye so the view wasn’t as good as it could have been. It was still good to get out and see them, though I must say that Wellington Harbour fireworks are much better!
